Until I recieved an email this morning with the picture below attached I had almost forgotten about load-shedding.
On a more serious note, load-shedding is a real pain up the proverbial you know what but from a Christian perspective instead of complaining (of which I have done a lot of and quite loudly I have to admit) about how terrible it is perhaps we could be grateful that we actually have electricity for 22 hours of every day 7 days a week.
Don’t get me wrong, I find the load-shedding debacle entirely unacceptable and what makes it even worse is the fact that the powers to be have been aware for over a decade that there was a problem and that it needed attention. I’m saying from the big picture perspective, staying without power for 2 hours every second day for a year or two is not the worst thing that can happen to us. We just have to take a look at the world around us, be that in our own neighborhood or across the globe for things to come perspective.
